How Our Race Program Works

This is Mike Sperenza!  He is standing in front of the Drivers Stand.  The Drivers Stand is where every Racer must stand while racing.  It is elevated so that Racers have a better view of the track.

All of the races are timed and scored by a computer controlled system.  Mike is getting his TRANSPONDER.  Transponders are what allow the computer to count racers laps.  During race day they are located on the table in front of the drivers stand.

The transponders must be securely fastened to the vehicle because they are very expensive.  Mike made a mount for the transponder, but some racers just put a 1/4'' hole in the windshield.
Mikes fingers are on the transponder and there is a standard body clip keeping it attached to the vehicle.
Now its time to race.  Mike fastens the body of his nitro truck with four of the clips that he used to secure his transponder.
Now he is starting to get nervous because he doesn't want me to post a picture of his truck wrecked on the track.
Mike set his Losi xxx -NT on the track and then went up onto the driverstand.
Some of the other racers in his heat joined him on the drivers stand.  A full heat of 10 racers is common.  During racing only the drivers in the current race are allowed up on the stand.

After Mike finished his 5 minute heat he made sure to:
  1. turn off his radio and vehicle
  2. put his transponder back in the rack
  3. and then he went out to MARSHAL
